Internet Banking Update
The first time you access your internet banking account after these new features have been added, you will notice the Access ID/User Name and the password now appear on separate pages.
You will be asked to input your email address so that if you click the “Forgot Your Password?” button, your current password will be immediately emailed to the address provided by you. A random Authentication Image will be displayed and you must enter an “Authentication Pass Phrase” to go along with the picture. Every time you log in to The Highlands Bank internet banking this same picture and phrase will be displayed. This assures you that you are safely logged on to The Highlands Bank site. If you do not see this picture and phrase, do not input any more information. Do not proceed with your online session. Contact The Highlands Bank immediately.
You will be prompted to choose and provide answers to three challenge questions. Please use answers that you will remember exactly if you should be prompted to answer them again in the future. These answers are used in conjunction with your user ID and password to confirm your identity to us.
Our system can identify the IP address of the computer being used to access your account information. If it is not a computer you have already registered as a trusted computer or if it is a public, non-registered computer, you will be prompted to answer the challenge questions. If the correct answers are not provided, access will be denied to your account information. This is to prevent someone from fraudulently obtaining your user name and password and logging into your online banking account from another computer.
You may register more than one computer—say if you use a computer at work as well as at home to access your account. If you are using a public computer, such as at the library or internet café, select the “This is a Public Computer. Do Not Register It” button. Once a computer has been registered, you will not be challenged on subsequent log in attempts.
A newly added feature is that images of your cleared checks are now available by clicking on the check number which appears on the image of your bank statement.
We are pleased to provide this additional layer of security and service to you, our valued customer. Feel free to contact us if you need assistance.
